About

Who are you?
The King behind Elvis-in-Vegas.com is me, Ryan Weatherby. I am a technology writer and consultant based in Chicago. As a best practices consultant in leading edge technologies my job is to help people and businesses get things done.

How do you do that?
I bring a perspective and skill set that get the job done better, faster, easier, and more economically than you or your business could do alone.

How can I hire you?
- Utility Player: your specific job or task is already defined and I help implement, complete, or support it on a per instance basis.
- Consultant: I help you draw up the game plan and construct a budget. Then, I select the best parts, people, and vendors to get the job done. This method can take the form of a complete plan, or I can stick along and oversee things too.

What are the kinds of issues you’ve tackled in recent projects?
Though we are most visible in the areas of WiFi networking and Disaster Recovery solutions, this list will give you an idea of other recent projects.
- High security plan to help a group of executives protect themselves against identity theft and privacy intrusion.
- Pay-per-use WiFi hot-spot at a small coffee shop.
- Secure multimedia WiFi network on a 1.5 acre 3-building personal residence.
- Redundant (on/off site) backup system for a small business required by law to archive documents but needing a simple solution.
- Single sign on authentication/encryption evaluation for a large enterprise network that needed an easy HIPPA compliant device.
- Large format display setup and usage lecture to a small business that wanted to increase productivity.
- Equipment roll-out and user training for a small business PC to Mac switch.
