Viral Video - a cultural barometer?

Looping water slide videos leave me feeling somewhat mixed. Gut reaction: 1.) I’d love to ride it; 2.) is a speedo needed to fulfill that German efficiency stereotype for purposes of smooth sliding?; 3.) and is it the music or the German accents that give this a scary tone? Judge for yourself.

From a cultural standpoint, I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw that (at least according to whatever metrics this site uses) the German looping water slide was #5 on the chart, and something political was #1.
